Be Pro Be Proud Draft Day is the premier event for seniors who are headed directly to the workforce after high school.
As a part of this event students discover their aptitudes, prepare resumes, and refine interview skills. Then, they are strategically matched with Be Pro Be Proud Partners for interviews and have the potential to receive job offers for high-wage jobs with benefits in the River Valley.
OHS Career Coach, Mrs. Dean, said, "I cannot strongly recommend Be Pro Be Proud Draft Days to my seniors heading to the workforce enough. It is truly the best thing I have ever been able to offer my students who are heading the workforce."
To participate, students must attend the Be Pro Be Proud Recruitment Meeting at 11 am on Tuesday, November 14 in the OHS Media Center or see Mrs. Dean by Friday, November 17.
LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
For more information, contact Mrs. Dean at melanie.dean@ozarkhillbillies.org.
Mrs. Estep's Family and Consumer Science classes welcomed Wendy Peltz from the Arkansas Cattle Women's Association to their class today to promote and educate about the nutrition and health benefits of beef. She taught the kids some cooking techniques and shared a delicious stir fry with the students.
Last week, Beta Club visited the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center and was able to play Bingo and eat an incredible lunch! Through their lunch purchases, they donated to the center, and this would not have been possible without their hard work and cooperation of the Ozark community. HPRD!

Ozark High School Student Selected for Congressional Youth Cabinet
U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) launched the seventh year of his Congressional Youth Cabinet on Friday, October 27th, at the Statehouse Museum in Little Rock. The meeting brought together 100 high school juniors who were selected from public, private, charter and homeschool students across the state for their involvement and leadership in their communities.
“I am pleased to welcome these young leaders who are interested in getting involved and making a difference in their schools and communities,” Boozman said. “It’s great to see the enthusiasm for the program and the passion students have for learning about public service and crafting policies to shape the future of Arkansas and our country.”
The Congressional Youth Cabinet is a non-partisan program that gives students insight and experience in the legislative process. The students will attend meetings throughout the year and work in teams to research national issues they select and propose policy solutions. In April, the students will present their recommendations to the senator.
Ozark High School's Saad Alam was selected to participate in the Congressional Youth Cabinet for the 2023-2024 school year and is participating in this program.
Sara Kunau, Education Specialist with the Arkansas Secretary of State's Office, spoke to Ozark High School Civics students on November 1 about how a bill becomes a law. This interactive activity allowed students to learn more about state government and the law-making process. Pictures is Sara Kunau with some of the students who participated in this activity.
